The Contexte

Our era is marked by constant and powerful socio-economic evolutions that imply resilience both individually and collectively. As a result, the players in the economic world, training, education and education are all confronted around a common issue: at the scale of a territory, how to adapt the training and dynamics of coaching young people to enable them to acquire these skills of permanent adaptation and engage them in dynamics of construction, reinforcement and valorization of their competences to face the permanent challenge of the employment?

Solutions are necessarily multiple, at different levels and scales. Among them, the digital. It allows to imagine new and emerging educational approaches that would not have been possible without its use but it can also strengthen and support educational actions older and already tried but proven.

The 2018 Digital Symposium therefore propose to focus on entrepreneurial projects, educational experiments, educational initiatives that have relied on digital tools to help young people regain their audacity and confidence and put them in a position ” learner actor “.

Two illustrations of the digital challenges in education

Developing entrepreneurship skills in young people

International as well as European or national orientations encourage educational programs in favor of the development of entrepreneurship and initiation among young people. Or, the desire to start or die early and most entrepreneurship programs are aimed at young people aged 18 and over.

YESict: digital support for a pedagogical process to encourage entrepreneurship among college students

By exploiting the possibilities of the digital world (video, serious game, collaborative and creative tools), the 7 partners of the YESict consortium have developed and tested on more than 7 institutions and 80 students a teaching method and its technological support platform to encourage the entrepreneurship in schools from adolescence. Very encouraging results have been achieved in making the world of entrepreneurs accessible to children and thus encourage entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship in a perspective of equal opportunities without distinction of gender.

New challenges for public formation Centers

Not only the profiles of candidates who diversify (career paths, skills, ages, nationalities) but in addition the next reform provides the possibility of flexible courses based on the achievements of each and accessible at any time of the year.

In addition, the scarcity of host companies often forces apprentices to be very geographically distant from formation centers incurring additional costs.

Lastly, there are very high contract termination rates in some sectors, while competition from private actors is emerging, offering very attractive apprenticeships 100% at a distance.

Digital: new opportunities for public apprenticeships

By allowing the individualization of the courses and the possibility for the apprentices to study whenever they want and where they want, the digital introduces flexibility and adaptation in the Formation Centers. This flexibility would thus make it possible to work on the autonomy of the apprentice while leaving the possibility of implementing peer support strategies.

Finally, the digital offers interesting tools in the service of a dynamic of involvement of the company especially in terms of follow-up of the learners and exchanges between teachers and masters of apprenticeships.
